A few fan sites print 2002 as his birth year. That would make him 24, but those pages offer no proof, so the 2001 date is the safer pick. If you’re checking his date of birth for a quiz, a trivia night, or a fan page, go with August 11, 2001.
Here’s a fun way to picture his timeline. He started posting comedy clips in 2018, when he was about 16 or 17. By the time The Traitors India hit screens in June 2025, he was 23. That’s a lot of screen time for someone who’s only just past 25.

The Early Days (2018 to 2019)
Purav began posting short comedy videos on TikTok and Instagram in 2018. Profiles also list a YouTube short film called School PTM as his acting debut, and another short film, Shaadi Mubarak, in October 2019 where he played Raghav. Becoming Poplu (2020)
In 2020, he joined Harsh Beniwal’s gaming channel, Harsh Beniwal 2.0, and played Poplu in the Shonty & Poplu series. This is the role that gave him his nickname and a much bigger fan base. One frequently mentioned breakout is his part as Kundan in the video “PUBG with Pariwar.”
Short Films and the Jump to OTT (2021 to 2023)

Purav Jha on The Traitors India
Did Purav Jha appear on The Traitors India? Yes. The reality show premiered on Prime Video on June 12, 2025, and Karan Johar hosted it. It put 20 contestants from film, TV, sports, and the digital world into a palace in Jaisalmer. If you’ve watched the US version, you already know the idea: some players are secret “Traitors” who must fool the “Innocents.”
Purav was one of the three players secretly chosen as Traitors at the start, along with Raj Kundra and Elnaaz Norouzi. Later in the season, he and Harsh Gujral worked together to remove Jasmin Bhasin from the game.
His run ended in the final stretch. Uorfi Javed overheard him and Harsh talking strategy, then convinced the group that Purav was a Traitor. He was banished in episode 10, which aired on July 3, 2025, just before the top four played the finale. Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther won the season and shared a cash prize of Rs 70 lakh.
For a creator best known for comedy, it was a big stage. Lots of viewers saw a different side of him: calm, sneaky, and strategic.

The takeaway is simple. He seems to keep his private life private, and he lets his work do the talking.
